1, Introduction to Zero Discharge Equipment for High Salt Wastewater

High salt wastewater refers to wastewater with a total salt content of at least 1% by mass. It mainly comes from concentrated reverse osmosis water, flue gas wastewater, petrochemical wastewater, etc. It is crucial to remove organic pollutants from saline wastewater that have an impact on the environment. Biological methods are used for treatment, as high concentrations of salt substances have inhibitory effects on microorganisms. Physical and chemical methods for treatment require large investment, high operating costs, and are difficult to achieve the expected purification effect.

The types and chemical properties of organic compounds in high salt organic wastewater vary greatly depending on the production process, but the salt substances contained are mostly Cl -, SO42-, Na+, Ca2+and other salt substances. Although these ions are essential nutrients for microbial growth, they play an important role in promoting enzyme reactions, maintaining membrane balance, and regulating osmotic pressure during microbial growth. However, if the concentration of these ions is too high, it will have inhibitory and toxic effects on microorganisms, mainly manifested as high salt concentration, high osmotic pressure, and dehydration of microbial cells causing cell protoplast separation; Salt precipitation reduces dehydrogenase activity; High chloride ions have toxic effects on bacteria; High salt concentration increases the density of wastewater, and activated sludge is prone to floating and loss, which seriously affects the purification effect of biological treatment systems.

2, Introduction to PALL DTRO Zero Emission System Technology


The PALL DTRO disc tube membrane module is mainly composed of RO membrane, guide plate, center pull rod, shell, various sealing components and connecting bolts at both ends of the flange. Stacking the filter membrane and guide plate together, fixing them with a central rod and end cap flange, and then placing them into a pressure resistant shell, forms a disc tube membrane component.

After passing through the gap between the membrane stack and the shell, the liquid enters the bottom guide plate through the guide channel. The processed liquid quickly flows through the filter membrane at a short distance, then reverses 180 º to the other membrane surface, and then flows into the next filter membrane, forming a tangential flow filtration from the circumference of the guide plate to the center of the circle, then to the circumference, and finally to the center of the circle on the membrane surface. The concentrated liquid flows out from the inlet flange. As the liquid flows through the filter membrane, the permeate is continuously discharged through the central collection tube. The concentrated liquid and permeate are isolated by an O-ring seal installed on the guide plate.
